William Wilkie Obituary

William T. Wilkie died peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill, or “WT” as he was known to many, was born 58 years ago on September 15, 1963 in Schenectady to Judith (Fell) and William E. Wilkie. He graduated from Duanesburg Central School in 1981 and drove trucks for many different companies, finally Price Chopper for the last 15 years of his career.  “WT” also enjoyed helping his dear friends, Howard and Jake Cornwell at Clayhill Farms operate the heavy equipment and drive the “big toys.”  A natural born tinkerer, Bill loved nothing more than turning wrenches and getting things working again, this included his antique Farmall H and newly acquired Oliver tractors.  Often times, family and friends heard his favorite quote, “I can fix anything. The impossible takes a little longer.”

Bill was also devoted to his family and his faith and was a member of Valley Bible Baptist Church in Cobleskill for many years.

Loving him forever are his wife: Bernadette “Bernie”  Wilkie, whom he married on July 28, 1990; son: Kenneth Wilkie; daughters: Amanda Wilkie, Ashley Wilkie; grandson and “Poppy’s” pride and joy and best friend: James Wilkie; daughter-in-law: Rebecca Wilkie, all of Middleburgh; father: William E. Wilkie; brother: Robert (Deb) Wilkie all of Delanson; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathy (Marty) Williams, Cheryll “Red” Parrotti, Karen (Barry) Henges, Punk (Bob) Lais, Perky (Roy) Compton, Bill Kenfield. Bill was predeceased by his mother Judith Wilkie and his brother-in-law: Anthony Parrotti.
