Thomas M. Buzon, formerly of Middleburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY.
Tom was born 71 years ago in Albany, NY on January 18, 1952 to Barbara (Shelmandine) and Stephen Buzon.
Growing up, Tom loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time at his grandparents' farm in Huntersland, developing a love for animals. There were always cats and dogs for pets around his home. He was a member of the Cub Scouts as a boy and loved to play baseball. As he got older, Tom was interested in local history and collected local postcards and pictures of winter from around the area. He also collected news articles of times gone by, preserving them in his scrap books.
His love of baseball also grew and spread to football. You could always count on Tom to pick the winning teams and be very close to the score.
His family also had a long history in the restaurant business in Middleburgh, going back to the early 1900's. The Shelmandine's business grew into the Middleburgh Diner, which Tom became a joint owner of until its sale in the early 1990's. Whether at the Diner or around town, you were always greeted by Tom's warm smile and hello.
Tom's loving family includes his sister: Margaret Buzon; his cousins: James (Doreen) Buzon and Ronald (Lois) Buzon and their families, along with many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street Middleburgh. Visitation with Tom's family will be from 10:00-11:00AM, prior to the Mass. Interment will be in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh, NY is honored to be caring for Tom and his family.
