Patricia White

Patricia White found eternal peace on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
 
Pat was born 83 years ago on March 17, 1938 in the Town of Berne, to Marjorie (Wright) and Milford Laraway.
A simple date to the Sadie Hawkins dance with John White quickly turned into a love affair that spanned decades.  After graduating from Middleburgh Central School, she worked for the phone company in Albany. Ms. Cross got "the girls" their first jobs and they stayed in a boarding house, until she and her sweetheart John were married on November 2, 1957 and began their life together.
Pat raised her family, earned her Insurance Broker's License and joined the family firm of J. L White Insurance in Middleburgh, a cornerstone on Main Street and Railroad Avenue for many years.  She was also secretary for the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce.      
 
Pat’s devotion to her community was endless.  She was Chairwoman and most recently secretary of the Middleburgh Planning Board, a charter member of the Middleburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps and treasurer of the Schoharie County Ambulance Rescue Squad Association.  Pat was a lifetime member of the Long Path North Hiking Club, member and secretary for many years of the Middleburgh Historical Society, and also active with the MCS Alumni Assoc., the Middleburgh Century Club, Onistagrawa Order of the Eastern Star and helped coordinate many of the July Arts & Crafts Festivals in the Village. She was also a lifetime member of the Hudson Mohawk Chapter Pioneer Gas Engine Assoc. and never missed joining friends every year at the Gas Up in Gallupville.
When not busy volunteering and sharing her own thoughts about activities and civic affairs, Pat was happiest loving her family and hosting family gatherings.
 
She will be loved forever by her daughter: Jane (Aaron Wilsey) White of Middleburgh, son: John L. “Jack” White, III of Westworth Village, TX; grandsons: Jason L. (Heather) White of Westworth Village, TX and Nicholas J. Wilsey of Sherburne, NY; great-grandchildren: Judah, Matilda and Maeve White; sister: Martha (Guy) Lindemann of Huntersland and her twin siblings Donna (David) Wood and Donald “Bill” (Marlene) Laraway of Middleburgh; and many nieces and nephews.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband: John L. White, Jr.; their infant son; sister and brother-in-law: Joan and E. David Hallock; sister-in-law: Elizabeth “Penny” White.
 
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in the Old Section of the Middleburgh Cemetery, off Huntersland Road. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Patricia and her family.
