To know Marjory Rivenburg, was to know and feel her love and strength at every moment. Even with her last breath, peacefully on January 2, 2023, she shared this love and strength with her family, bringing them together at her bedside as she found eternal peace.
Marjory was born on July 24, 1943 in Flushing, NY to Genevieve (Finnegan) and James Burchell. After her parents’ death, she was loved and raised by other family members, eventually moving to Huntersland, attending MCS and graduating in 1961.
Everyone that came into her life became a part of her life and her love. Dates on her calendar were her gentle reminder to send birthday, anniversary and holiday greetings every year without fail. Her loving generosity of handmade gifts were cherished by many. To remain enthusiastic is to remain forever young and Margie was forever a kid at heart.
Her strength and kindness also ensured her patients received the greatest care under her nursing skills. Whether providing care with local doctors in a hospital or from home with family, her love and devotion to healing was a better cure than any prescription.
Perpetual sunshine, an eternal optimist and her absolute, unwavering faith in God’s love and promise held her through an incredible life that she shared passionately with her husband, Philip G. Rivenburg, Sr. until his predeceasing her in 2013, and with her daughter: Deborah (Glenn) Winter of Cobleskill; her son: Philip G. (Lara) Rivenburg, Jr. of Cairo; her grandchildren: Patricia Rivenburg and Corbin Rivenburg of Cairo and Brandon Winter of Cobleskill; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will hold her in their hearts forever.
