Marilyn Hellijas Obituary

Middleburgh – Marilyn Hellijas, of Dolen Lane found eternal peace on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at her home, in the loving care of her family.

Marilyn was born 75 years ago on February 28, 1945 in Amityville to Mildred (England) and Kenneth Sheerer, who both predeceased her.  Marilyn worked for many years at Cobleskill-Richmondville as a School bus aide before retiring 13 years ago.

She loved collecting things and eagerly looked forward to attending local auctions in search of her next treasure.  Marilyn also enjoyed camping with her family and was a past member of the Cobleskill Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.

Cherishing her love and memory forever are her husband: Kenneth Hellijas, whom she married on June 16, 1983 and her daughters: Debbie Becker of Schoharie, Dana (Glenn) Wolin of Saratoga, Tina (Andrew) Pangburn of Middleburgh; her granddaughter: Alyssa (Erik) Sossei of Albany; her brother: Richard Sheerer of Shirley, NY and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Marilyn will also be loved and missed by her faithful companion, “Baby,” her beautiful black Pug.

Her family also wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Helios Care for their support and care.

All are invited to a visitation with her family from 2:00-3:00PM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh.  Distancing and facial covering will be respected by all attending.  A private memorial service will be held for her family.
