Joyce D. Korus

Joyce D. Korus, of Pewter Lane, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Joyce was born 81 years ago on September 11, 1941 in Bayonne, NJ to Margaret Mary (O’Donnell) and John Henry Doran.  Joyce worked for many years in Administration and Finance for many upstate hospitals before retiring.

She loved vacationing to St. Thomas and the Cayman Islands and thoroughly loved her vacation to Europe with her son.  She loved cats, her home and the special relationships she had with her grandchildren.

Joyce’s loving family includes her daughter: Joyce Korus Roney (Rob) of Middleburgh; her son: Ken A. Korus of Ansonia, CT; grandchildren: Kyle A. Roney (Stacy) of Guilderland, Amanda L. Roney (Matthew Morrish) of Boston, MA; her twin great-granddaughters: Ava G. Roney and Eloise A. Roney, that were born August 17, 2022, ironically the same birthday as her daughter Joyce and son Ron.  Joyce was predeceased by her son Ron J. Korus on March 12, 2013.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Middleburgh.  Interment will follow in Breakabeen Cemetery. A brief visitation with Joyce’s family will be from 10:30-11:00AM prior to Mass. Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, of Middleburgh is honored to be caring for Joyce and her family.
