Jane A. Ryan, of Lawton Hollow Road, found eternal peace on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the presence of her family.
Jane was born 91 years ago on June 14, 1930, in Norwalk, CT to Maude (Summers) and Harold Cory and her life overflowed with memories and precious moments. Jane earned her Bachelor’s Degree, becoming a Registered Nurse, most recently working at the Schoharie County Health Department for many years before retiring. It was a chance meeting, while she worked at Meadowbrook Hospital on Long Island, that introduced her to, then police officer, Joseph Ryan and they married on June 6, 1953. She also helped her husband and sons with bookwork at the family business, Ryan’s Auto Repair, proudly watching her family continue its success for decades.
Jane and her family moved to their hilltop farm on Lawton Hollow Road in 1969 and fell in love with the tranquility of nature. She found great solace in keeping her home, tending to her gardens, walking the paths around her woods and growing her beloved blueberries. Jane also had a keen eye for beautiful pictures, capturing nature and moments through the lens of her camera. She was an avid traveler, visiting many places with family, bus tours and her closest friends, Clara Potter and Pauline Caruso. They set out on many excursions and adventures together and never passed by a tag sale or market in hunt of treasures. Jane was an active member of the Middleburgh Golden Age Club and enjoyed going to the Middleburgh Library and participating in the book club there. She also enjoyed attending services with her Huntersland Methodist Church family for many years.
While every moment was devoted to her home and her traveling adventures, Jane absolutely made time for her most precious treasures: her family. Rarely did she miss a gathering or event in support of her children and grandchildren’s school and sporting activities. Her beautiful smile also beamed to learn that her name was carried on to her granddaughter and 2 great-granddaughters.
Jane will be loved forever by her daughter: Marion (Harold) Lloyd of Middleburgh; sons: Joseph (Kathy) Ryan of Livingstonville, Nicholas (Kelly Macwaters) Ryan of Middleburgh and James (Kim) Ryan of Middleburgh; grandchildren: William (Rupa) Lloyd, Daniel (Rebecca) Lloyd, Julie (Ben) Farkas, Joseph (Jen) Ryan, Jr., Michael (Laura) Ryan, Matthew (Savannah) Ryan, Christopher (Aimee) Paine, Edward (Ashley) Paine, Jessica (Anthony) Cielakie, Lancelot Hueston, Carley Jane Ryan, Taylor (Rob Todd) Ryan, Morgan (Cody) Botha; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Sohan and Anjali Lloyd, Courtney Pullin, Ethan and Emma Jane Farkas, Joseph Ryan, III, Amy Ryan, Michael and Kingston Ryan, Kenneth Ryan, Jaylyn Noble, Easton Waits, Narriaya, Xavier and Harper Paine, Adalina Jane Cielakie; great-great- grandson: Avien Trezza; siblings: Beatrice (Thomas) Owens, Robert Corey; many nieces and nephews and her beloved and faithful canine companion: Pearl.
