George Clark Obituary

George Robert Clark, 81, of Gilboa, NY passed away peacefully in his home on Friday July 7, 2023.  George was born on June 29, 1942 in Gilboa, a son of Floyd L Clark and Vernetta (Finkle) Clark. 

 

George was a Veteran of the U.S Army before starting his working career as a logger working in the woods with his father and then spent most of his career as a truck driver.  Later in life he became a heavy machine operator, as well as spending many years working on race cars. George’s passions in life were NASCAR, tinkering in the garage and telling stories (sometimes a bit embellished) especially with his cousin Lou. 

 

George is survived by wife Anna (Giesin) Clark; children: William Clark of Gilboa, Deanne (James) Macrina of Westerlo and Deborah Clark of Gilboa; grandchildren: Ryan Bellinger, Brandon (April) Cooper, William (RaeDawn) Cooper, Ashley Bellinger, Samantha Cooper, Amanda Cooper, Velma Cooper, Sara Macrina and George Cooper; as well as 8 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Nellis Newcomb of Prattsville, Kathleen Demetriou of Croton on Hudson, Mary Callahan of Lakeland, FL, Helen (Norman) Davis of Citra, FL, James(Teresa) of Melrose FL, Benjamin (Linda) Clark of Westerlo, Cindy (Tyrone) Boyce of Jefferson, Sally(Wallace) West of Cobleskill and Floyd (Joanne) Clark of Goldsboro, NC; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by his parents: Floyd and Vernetta; his brother: Ralph Clark; and his grandson: Tyler Clark.

 

No formal services are planned, but George's family requests anyone wishing to honor his life to please donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O.
