Howes Cave – Fred Wood, of Caverns Road, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Albany Medical Center.
Fred was born 75 years ago on December 21, 1945 in Schoharie to Satina (Williams) and Melvin Henry Wood. He attended and graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1965 and went on to a 30-year career as a machinist with General Electric.
Fred was a lifetime member of the Middleburgh Volunteer Fire Department and loved collecting model John Deere tractors and feeding all of the birds around his home. Devoted to his family, he cherished their company, especially the warmth and love of his grandchildren and his beloved pup, “Zoey”
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother: Ralph Wood, Sr.
Cherishing his love and memory forever are his high school sweetheart, Linda Wood, whom he married on July 30, 1966 and his daughter: Lisa (Mark) Slater, also of Howes Cave; his son: Fred (Cindy) Wood of Schoharie; grandchildren: Brooke (Alex) Carroll of Lawyersville, Tanner Slater of Howes Cave, Jesse Wood of Warnerville; brother: Wendell (Mary) Wood of Schoharie and many nieces and nephews.
While no formal services are being held, Fred’s family thanks you for remembering him and them through this time.
