Doris Potter Obituary

Doris Annette (Jackson) Potter passed away peacefully at home, with her loved ones by her side, on Monday, April 15, 2024

 

Doris lived many years in West Conesville with her husband and children prior to moving to Mascotte, Florida.  She returned 6 years ago to her beloved mountains in Prattsville.

 

She was born to Clayton and Mildred (Faulkner) Jackson on August 8, 1935 and was married to Lynden H. Potter, Sr. on November 28, 1955.  She worked for over 27 years in the cafeteria at Gilboa-Conesville Central School.

 

Doris was predeceased by her husband Lynden and her brothers: Richard Jackson and Steven Jackson, Sr.

 

She is survived by her children: Diana L. (Gerald) Reynolds of Groveland, Fl., Lynden H. Potter, Jr. of East Durham, NY, Patricia A. Potter of Prattsville, NY, Gary M. Potter of Grand Gorge, NY, Sheila M. (Anton Matthew) Koker of Garner, NC; and her sisters: Jean Merwin and Linda (Donald) Johnson. Doris has 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00PM (Noon) on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Manorkill Cemetery, Route 990V, Manorkill, NY followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 1:00PM at the Conesville Fire House.

 

Memorial donations in her honor are requested to the Conesville Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 1292 NY-990V, Gilboa, NY 12076 or to the Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414
