Daniel Shultes Obituary

Gilboa - The life of Daniel Shultes was brought full circle when he passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife Trista during the early hours of July 7, 2020 after a courageous battle against ALS.

Known as Dan or Danny to his family and friends, Daniel was born on July 7, 1977 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He grew up in Middleburgh and graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1995.  During his time in high school, he made many lifelong friends who he remained very close with until his passing.  After graduating from high school, Danny attended Hudson Valley Community College from which he graduated in 2002 with an HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) degree.

Through the years, Dan had worked for his parents at Middleburgh Bowling Center, Schoharie Lanes, Sharon Springs Lanes, before working for Mohawk Honda and Kool Temp Heating and Cooling.  In 2005, Dan started working alongside his in-laws at Aqua Tec as a Pump and Geothermal foreman where he was a dedicated employee who attended to the needs of all of his customers.

Danny enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling to different places, attending festivals, listening to live music, and spending time relaxing with family and friends.  He was adored by many and will be remembered for his fun-loving attitude, beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and his huge heart.

He will live forever in the memories of his wife of 14 years: Trista (Wyckoff) Shultes and his loving children: Bray and Reed; his parents:  Richard and Patricia Shultes; his siblings: Richard (Brynda) Shultes, Michael (Amber) Shultes, Stephen Shultes, and Christine Noxon; his in-laws:  Walter and Kristen Wyckoff; his sister in-law:  Delana (Dustin) Truesdell;  his nieces and nephews:  Carolyne and Cameryn Shultes, Delilah, Cecilia, and Claire Shultes, Charles Millard, Benjamin and Edward Noxon, Sylver and Clint Truesdell; his aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

All are invited to visit with his family on Monday, July 13, 2020 from 11am- 1pm and from 4-7pm at Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, 134 River Street in Middleburgh.  Social distancing and facial mask protection will be required and respected by all.  Private interment will be in Gilboa Cemetery.
