Rensselaerville – Stephen D. Conklin, 65, of Pond Hill Road, found eternal peace on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
Steve was born in Suffern, NY on November 15, 1953 and was raised by his mom, Patricia (Delaney) and her husband, Willis Ingersoll of Stony Point and his grandparents, Helen and Archibald Conklin of Pearl River, who all predeceased him.
With a natural talent, Steve became a skilled carpenter and mastered the art of construction. When not working, his spirit found solace in the beauty of nature. Steve enjoyed relaxing on the water, waiting for a tug at the fishing line and exercising the same patience, hunting in the woods.
Kind-hearted and fun-loving, Steve rarely missed an opportunity to pull a prank, nickname someone or raise his favorite drink, often singing his own lyrics to popular songs, bringing laughter and raised eyebrows, all in fun.
His gentle spirit and love will be held closest by his soulmate: Henrietta Vogel, of Rensselaerville; his son: Morgan (Alison) Conklin and his granddaughter: Raina Conklin, all of Valley Cottage; his brother: Michael (Cynthia) Ingersoll of Charlotte, NC; his nephew: Michael (Kelly) Ingersoll of Charlotte, NC; his nieces: Chelsea Ingersoll of Tallahassee, FL, Leigh Anne Ingersoll of Tampa, FL; his great-nephew: John Michael Ingersoll and his dear friends: “Twiggy” and Harry Kenney of Middleburgh.
While a celebration of Steve’s life will be held privately his family thanks you for remembering them in thought and prayer through this time and also extends gratitude to Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC, of Middleburgh for their compassion, care and support in honoring Steve’s life.
