Middleburgh – Shirley K. Rivenburgh, 89, of Railroad Avenue, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Schenectady Center for Nursing and Rehab following declining health.
Shirley was born in Middleburgh on June 8, 1928 to Edna (Finch) and Bradford Rivenburgh. She attended and graduated from Middleburgh Central School and then worked as an executive secretary at the former Empire Insurance in Middleburgh before moving to California.
Shirley lived between San Francisco and Petaluma for many years, continuing as an executive secretary with the Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw and Pittman Law Firm until retiring. A quiet, reserved and dignified lady, Shirley found pleasure in attending movies and dining with her closest friends.
She was predeceased by her brothers: Bradford, Kenneth, Donald and Robert Rivenburgh and her niece: Jean Ann Bryant.
Shirley’s family includes her sisters: Loretta Bolen and Thera (Dewey) Carver of Middleburgh; sisters-in-law: Alice Rivenburgh of Salisbury, MD, Linda Rivenburgh of Cobleskill; nieces: Pam (Rick) Sinko of Latham, Patty (Kitchell) Paser of Middleburgh, Amy Bolen (Darrell France) of Cherry Valley, Jennifer (Chris) Hubbard of Middleburgh, Heather Carver of Malta; nephews: Brett (Joanne) Carver of Castleton –on-Hudson, Shawn Carver of Middleburgh and great-nieces and nephews.
