When our family bought the Breakabeen Store in October '63, Myrtle taught us the business. She worked with us for six weeks. She was patient, soft spoken, and humorous. When the six weeks passed, she stopped in occasionally to answer questions or to show us where anything was "hidden." She lived up the street and became a friend. We knew her as a sweet, gentle woman. As church secretary, she helped us keep the Breakabeen Church open when we were without a minister for six months. She knew everything that needed to be done and prompted us to do it. She had our complete trust and she was known for keeping everything confidential. She was a wonderful servant to the congregations of Schoharie and Breakabeen-North Blenheim.
