Gilboa – Mary “Bunni” Giangrande, 64, of Flat Creek Road, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Bunni was born in Port Chester on April 5, 1953 to Marion (Washburn) and Roger Manley. Gifted with a loving and nurturing spirit, Bunni went on to teach and touch the lives of Kindergarten and Science students at Yorktown Central School before retiring in 2009 and making the family’s weekend retreat in the hills of Gilboa her new home.
That same loving spirit carried into her home and heartwarming memories of a smile that lit up any room, aromas and tastes of delectable baked treats, beautiful drawings, yearly cruises and weekend trips to Gilboa will be cherished by her family and friends forever, as will camping vacations to Rhode Island and Long Beach Island, where her love of beautiful nature shined as bright as her smile.
Bunni married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Giangrande, who continues to love and cherish her memory, on April 22, 1972 and together they raised and shared the lives of their sons: Joseph Giangrande of Gilboa, Matthew (Jessica) Giangrande of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren: Matthew, Jaxon and Olivia Giangrande and Jenna and Mark Danouski; great-grandchildren: JC Wyckoff, Aubrey and Reagan Danouski; sisters: Ellen Luft of Lake Peekskill, Arlene Egan of Hopewell, Patricia (Doug) DeMasi of Beekman, Lisa Manley of Poughquag; brother: Roger (Cheryl) Manley of Beekman and many nieces, nephews and friends.
