Middleburgh – Mary S. Cahill, 74, of Windy Ridge, died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 from declining health.
Mary was born in Brooklyn on March 27, 1945 to Beatrice (Thall) and Anthony C. Yung, Sr. She attended and graduated from Middleburgh Central School in 1962 and went on to work at various jobs, including the Grand Union, the Parrot House and lastly as an aide at Middleburgh Central School.
Mary’s fondest moments were spent turning pages in her favorite books and being in the company of her grandchildren, family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband: James Cahill; sister: Alice Stanton; brother: Fredrick Yung.
Cherishing her memory forever are her sons: Ronald C. (Fay) Smith, Jr. and Roger (Shannon) Smith, all of Middleburgh; step-children: Teresa Cahill and James Shawn Cahill, both of Stamford; grandchildren: Olivia, Chloe, Casey, Austin, Sheridan; step-grand: Alex; great-granddaughter: Aurora; sisters: Beatrice Grzybowski, Catherine Stempel, Joan Flitcroft, Dorothy Moon, Patricia (Dale) Rogers; brothers: Anthony C. Yung, Jr., John (Rose) Yung, long-time friend: Ronald C. Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
While a memorial service will be held at a later date, Mary’s family extends their gratitude for remembering them at this time and to Coltrain Funeral Home, LLC of Middleburgh for their care.
