Schoharie: Jesse A. Polak, 69, of Sunnyside Road, died suddenly, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Jesse was born in Schoharie on May 9, 1947 to Frances J. (Smolarski) and John A. Polak.

He graduated from Schoharie Central School and then served in the United States Navy from 1967-1971. 

Jesse was a welder by trade, working more than 35 years at General Electric in Schenectady before retiring.

He was also a “Jack of All Trades.” He excelled at woodworking, caring for his home, cooking, playing cards and dancing.  Jesse was a former member of the Schoharie Fire Department and truly lived his life to the fullest. And beyond his wife, Jesse’s greatest loves were his grandchildren and his loyal four-legged sidekick, Bitsy.

Jesse was predeceased by his brother, John.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Armlin) Polak, whom he married on July 1, 1967; daughters, Tammy Polak of Middleburgh and Raquel (Jeff) Keller of Schoharie; grandchildren: Deanna, Shyanne, Sierra, Matthew, Michael and Skylar; brothers: James, Jerry, Joe and Gene; nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Memorial service will be held privately, at the family’s convenience.
