Purling – Jan B. Meyers, 67, of Joel M. Austin Road, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Albany Medical Center following accidental circumstances, yet enjoying his renewed passion for motorcycles.
JB was born in Brooklyn, on December 29, 1952, to Miriam (Romn) and Ernest “Buddy” Meyers.
He was a certified master electrician by trade and a member of the Long Island Electrician’s Union. Locally, he drove for Casings, INC of Catskill.
JB’s life overflowed with passions, he was a member of the NRA, loved to travel and had a knack for solving mathematical problems. Many called him the “Philosopher” and if he didn’t have the answer, would soon find it. Kind, generous and loving, JB’s spirit will live on forever in the hearts of family and friends, especially his girls, whom he said were his proudest achievement and their companions, whom JB treasured as sons of his own.
JB’s family includes his loving wife, Lynn (Cordell) of Purling, whom he married on June 15, 1986, his daughters: Brianna (David) Powers of Garden City, Kaitlin Meyers (Allen Trombley) of Middleburgh, Chloe Meyers (Grant Roberts) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren: Anais and Benjamin; his siblings: Holly Romn of Long Island, Ronald Meyers of California; his brother-in-law: Carmine Cesarano of Long Island; his nieces: Michelle, Jessica and Lindsay Cesarano, all of Long Island; his cousin: Diane Froot of Florida and his father-in-law: Donald Cordell of Gilboa.
JB’s family thanks you for remembering them through this time and ask that you to celebrate his life by sharing kindness and generosity in your own, as JB would have.
