Eleanor Zottola Obituary

Middleburgh – Eleanor Zottola, 91, formerly of Nickerson Drive, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Albany Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 31, 1927 in the Bronx to Lucy (Maresco) and Emmanuel Napolitano, Eleanor was one of 4 children and loved growing up in the city, never losing her love of the city life or taking long walks on the sidewalks.

She married her sweetheart, “Sal” and together bought their summer home in Middleburgh in 1959, moving there permanently in 1977 after “Sal” retired.

Quiet and reserved, Eleanor’s passion was researching natural health solutions and sharing them with friends and family, often over many cups of fresh coffee at Stewarts and the Middleburgh Diner.  Her inner beauty, strength and kindness shone through her beautiful smile and along with her generosity, will always be remembered.

Eleanor is reunited eternally with her beloved husband: Silvestro “Sal” Zottola; her beautiful daughter: Marie Mastandrea; her siblings: Angelina Grimaldi, Joseph Napolitano and Michael Napolitano.

Holding her memory the closest are her son-in-law: Frank Mastandrea of Albany; her niece: Rita; her nephews; Raymond, Louis, Paul, Michael, Tony; her devoted and loving caregiver: Trish and her closest friends.
