Matthew, we are so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a remarkable woman who truly "swept the sunshine into the dark corners" for so many. We will always be grateful for her kindness to George in his declining years, and for her eloquent eulogy at his Celebration of Life. To paraphrase from her book, "The world is forever changed, not because she is gone but because she was here." RIP Reverend Carol. The angels are in good company.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. She has always been a huge part of my life, even though it's been too many years since her and I last spoke, that conversation we had was as if no time had passed. I hate that I was not able to make it to her to visit the last time I was up. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you during this time.

Sis, You were and are one of a kind servants of God. You were always there when we needed a bit of encouragement. You never gave up on anything or anyone which we feel was your strong point in life. We know how much you were loved and respected throughout the community and the programs you were involved in. Whenever Sally and I were home to visit, people in Middleburgh would say, "you're Carol's family". We were always proud to say "yes we are". We will miss you but we will never forget you. As we have always said as we left each other, "we will never say goodbye but we will see each other later". Love from your "Little brother" Bob and Sally

Matthew, I remember summer weekends at Aunt Edna and Uncle Harry West's camp, playing password with your Mom. Arlington, Doris, and Sudie too. (My Mom, Joyce, was Doris and Sudie's cousin). There was always lots of laughter, good food, and love. Your Mom was quite special in the way she shared herself. It is so true what was said about those who passed before her greeting her with love.

I was just thinking of her a few days ago as my mother is going on 102 and I wanted to speak to her about special care. Your mom is going to be missed by so many people whose lives were touched. I am sure she already is sporting her Angel wings. May her Spirit whisper to you as you think of her. My sincere condolences.

While I cannot claim Carol as a personal friend, my grandmother, Eveleen Doty, was a member of the Golden Agers, and I loved going to the vaudeville shows as a child.
