Middleburgh – Betty E. Winne, 93, of MT Path died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam.

Betty was born on August 7, 1924 in Schoharie to Beatrice (Diamond) and Frederick Hiller.

She grew up in Middleburgh with her great-grandfather, David H. Lawyer, attended Middleburgh Central School and graduated in 1943, the first in her family to ever graduate. Betty worked at 3M Insulator Company in Schenectady, she was a waitress at the Lamppost, Deputy Clerk of the Schoharie County Board of Supervisors and an Account Clerk for New York State, working in many departments including ENCON, SUNY Cobleskill and Corrections at Summit.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in West Middleburgh, enjoyed crocheting, needlework and most of all, visiting with friends.

Betty’s family includes her daughter: Sandra Hiller Davis of Amsterdam; grandson: Jason (Tammy) Staie of Amsterdam; great-grandchildren: Michaela and Mark Staie of Amsterdam; nephew: Jerry (Betty) Rhodes of New Port Richey, FL; nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends.

No formal services are planned at this time, a graveside committal service will be held in the spring in Middleburgh Cemetery.
