Mary Lou Hanley

Conesville – Mary Lou Hanley, 78, of Bull Hill Road, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Ellis Hospital.

Mary Lou was born on March 4, 1939 in Nyack to Helen (Koshinskie) and Alfred Affronti.

She worked for many years as a systems analyst with the Long Island Railroad before retiring and moving to Conesville from Centereach in 1991.  Never one to sit idle, Mary Lou worked for the Schoharie County Health Department, Schoharie ARC and most recently in the cafeteria at Gilboa-Conesville Central School.

A sassy lady with a zest for life, she loved vacationing, taking cruises, visiting casinos and playing slots.  Her greatest joy was found hosting, entertaining and being with her family and friends.

Mary Lou will always be held in the hearts of her husband, Edward A. Hanley, Jr, whom she married on May 6, 1989 and her children: Diane (Johnny) Martinez, Luann Gurecki, Jimmy Caputo, Robert Caputo, Tommy Caputo, Kim Hanley, Kathy Hanley, Kelli (Chris) Celli, Kerri (Bob) Burger, Kristi (Joe) Bowers; her grandchildren: Kristina, Jessica (Jason), Tori, Gina, Bella, Mikayla, Mackenzie, Nicky, Tommy, Vinny, Tyler, Romeo, Justin, Christopher, Jaden, Jack, Max; her sister: Judyann (Mac McParland) Affronti and her beloved pussycats: Luke and Lucy.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main Street, Middleburgh.  All are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM and again Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Coltrain Funeral Home LLC, 134 River Street, Middleburgh.  Interment will be private, following cremation.

The family kindly requests that memorials in Mary Lou’s memory be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142
